Canada Introduces Online Portal to Verify Letters of Acceptance for International Students

✅Canadian immigration has implemented a new online portal to authenticate letters of acceptance (LOAs) submitted by international students for visa applications. These LOAs confirm admission into a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), the authorized schools for international students in Canada. The initiative aims to safeguard vulnerable students and maintain the integrity of the International Student Program by requiring DLIs to validate LOAs through the portal within a 10-day timeframe. Failure to verify or confirmation of a fake LOA results in the cancellation of the student visa application, with refunded processing fees. This measure follows significant changes in Canada's student immigration system, prompted by the near deportation of 700 Indian students deceived by a fraudulent immigration consultant. Canada, a top destination for international students, issued over 280,000 new study permits between January and June 2023, experiencing a 77% increase compared to the same period in 2022. Additionally, starting January 1, 2024, the Canadian government doubled the cost-of-living financial requirement for incoming international students. . . Source: www.cicnews.com . . IRCC Extends PGWP Eligibility for International Students Abroad

🍁IRCC Extends PGWP Eligibility for International Students Abroad🍁 ✅Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have prolonged the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility relaxation for international students. Until December 31, 2023, students who completed less than 50% of their PGWP-eligible studies abroad remain eligible. The relaxed rules, initiated due to pandemic-related travel restrictions, permit students who began their studies overseas before August 31, 2022, to count 100% of that time toward PGWP eligibility. Students who started studies between September 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023, can count 50% of the time. The extension does not apply to students studying abroad after September 1, 2023, or those enrolling in programs after August 31, 2022. . .
